Wow, thanks guys! All this will be useful to a lot of people! It's tough to do an amazing job like the pros can when porting parts. This is because they spend the money to produce a custom honing tool that can drill out the appropriately sized hole in whatever shape they want. Us DIY'ers have to report to endless filing.
scheides, wow that's awesome! Looks like great work! So you got the 65mm TB and matching gasket as well? I have been kicking myself knowing that I could have just sent it out and had a professional hone and polish those intake holes for me, but I was under the impression that nobody bothered doing that kind of work so I undertook it myself
Might not be as pretty, but I'm sure it will get the job done. Good luck on the How-To! We could really use one of those for the intake manifold. Maybe it will convince more people to touch "both ends" of their car and not just the exhaust components!
ak47po, I have the workshop manual from www.carfiche.com and don't recall seeing those pages. Will look up section 15-9 and see if I can't pull it up now.

backwards??
Too much tension on the belts not allowing you to line up the alternator before tightening?
Just some things I remember from my SR20 days. May not apply to the 4G motor...
