ACD/Brake/idle issue. Please help!
ACD/Brake/idle issue. Please help!
Here's a new one. Anyone with knowledge of possible problem please respond!! Car revs higher as I press down on the brake pedal. I can feel it pull when braking during driving, or when depressing the clutch and braking the rpm's jump up (to around 2/3000). Just before this happend the first time All the ACD lights lit up, and a little later the check engine light came on. I got the car home, made an appt at the dealership, and didn't drive it till then (about 2 days). Driving to the dealer the car was fine (of course) except the check engine light was still on. I told them the problem, but all they seemed to care about was the existing problem...the check engine light. The cleared that, and sent me home. Driving home was fine, but today the ACD lights started jumping around and the engine revving while braking came back. ANyone who's experienced this problem or who might know what's up...please lemme know whatcha think. I was loving my EVO, but I'm currently not too thrilled with it! It's an ) '06 MR with about 7,000 miles on it. No mods. Only recent changes were switching to AMSOIL 100% synthetic motor oil, and throwing on my winter rims and tires. Thanks in advance for any insight...

Did the dealer tell you what the SEL code was?, If not, next time the light comes back on, take it to autozone and have them read the code(its free) and troubleshoot from there.
Same problem
I assume you meant the CEL code? No, I wasn't able to get that info from the dealer. I'll try bringing it to the local Advance Auto and try and get the free diagnostic. My only thought is some kind of leak in the brake lines or some kind of vacuum line for the brakes. Seems like the only thing that could make the engine rev when braking. And I could see that affecting the ACD lights possibly. Still open to any suggestions or knowledge, and I'll repost when I get the CEL codes. Thanks JenX-
