ACD Lights Turn On During Long Drives

i've read a lot of threads about the ACD lights turning on and i know there are many possibilities as to what may cause this (i.e. acd pump, fluids, etc.). i was driving from San Diego to Anaheim and about half way through the trip i noticed my ACD lights came on. i turned my car off and on and it went back to normal. then while i was driving home from Anaheim they turned back on. it seems to go back to normal everytime i turn my car off. the lights havent turned back on ever since i returned to San Diego. maybe it's because i don't drive far enough for the lights to turn on again. i took my car to the dealer to see if they could check it out, but he said their evo specialist was off on saturdays and to bring the car back on Monday. my question is, why would the lights only turn on during long drives? should i still worry about it even if the lights are normal?

Has anyone figured out a way to pull the codes for this without bringing it to the dealer?

strange.... I wonder if it is just a software issue, hence why it would be normal when you turn your car off and than back on, because the system is going to go through a check, just like your modulator for ABS etc.......

yeah i would hate to pay mitsubishi $100 to check it and tell me that it's fine. my warranty is gonna expire in 8.5k miles so if my ACD is going bad i would really like for them to replace it.

Do any of you have LED's in your 3rd brake light? This has been confirmed to cause this problem and I had this problem myself.

I have the same problem, my lights always turn on now.

On my warranty the ACD pump was covered for 60k and drivetrain is 100k. When I went to get the problem Diagnosed they said my TC was trashed and was covered. The sad part was my ACD pump was not covered and would cost $3000!!!

Act quick because the ACD is costly, Im going to eliminate mine because it is fawkin useless.

The lights on mine went on at 55k miles......took it to the dealer, scanned it and said you need a new pump. The mechanic said we could try a few things to fix it but your so close to 60k I am just putting it down as a new pump and being done.

Its getting installed today actually......

nice. did you have to pay a diagnostic fee? if so, was it refunded since the part was covered under warranty?

I have this same problem, only on long drives on the freeway on hot days it seems like my lights come on... It's not a load issue as it only happens when i'm cruising, but I can't figure it out, i just bled the system too with new fluid and it just happened again today. Any one else have any experience with fixing this issue? I do have an led light in my dome light, but I don't see how that could be hurting my acd pump while driving on the highway when the light wouldn't be on anyways...

Most likely it is the ACD pump going bad. It happens to mine and I was told that the pump needed to be changed. I have been driving with it like that for a while with no problems.
