Unhappy Windsheild washer not working

My driver side windsheild washer does not spray. The passenger side sprayed fine. I can't access the hose very easily as it is attached between the hood mat and the hood itself. The nozzle does not look blocked. Today was the first time I have ever used it.

Any ideas?

Usually, a sewing needle will fit right into the opening - try unclogging it. It may not look clogged, but that's easily the most likely option. It's far more likely that it's clogged than the hose inside has clogged (took my last car 180,000 miles to clog one of them) and obviously the system itself works if you get anything coming out.

I opened my hood, and sprayed the windsheild washer. I thought maybe I would see the fluid squirting out from somewhere along the driver side fluid line, but nope. No luquid at all. Just passenger side.

I dont have a sewing needle so I can't check to see if it is clogged. I have never used the windsheild washer and have never waxed or used anything that could cover up the windsheild washer fluid hole.....

Any other ideas?

Have an idea but not sure if it will work ... locate where the line hooks to the pump .. and unplug it. Blow it out with mouth air or an air compressor and see if blows out the opening (probably need 2 people) .. you could also see if it squirts out of the pump on that opening too. Is the windshield washer fluid full?

I wonder if the washer fluid line got pinched ...

May wanna call the dealership, as ya have a good warranty too. It is kinda comical that on a high performance car, the windshield washer fluid thingy doesn't work :P

Well, generally, one pump powers the lines and pushes fluid out both sprayers. So if there's a clog in one, it will only come out the other. So you probably are clogged - get something to stick through and you'll probably be fine. You wouldn't see anything under the hood though because if you had actually ruptured the hoses, then there wouldn't be enouhg pressure to use either sprayer more than likely.

Using digdats idea might work too, but generally I've found that anything stuck in there won't come out that smwall side toward your windshield. You could try blocking the working sprayer with your finger which may force more pressure on the clogged one, but I really think investing 8 cents into a needle will suit you better. Maybe a paper clip?

I would not recommend compressed air. Chances are you will seperate a hose joint somewhere and then just have 2 problems to fix.

A quick way to clear a clogged washer nozzle is to disconnect the pump hose, and hook up a line to one of those hand operated vacuum pumps auto stores sell for bleeding brakes.

It works best if you can take the nozzle off the car and drop it in a bucket of water. When you can suck water through it, pushing water in the spray direction should work, too.

dunno if this helps but I do know with cetrain strut tower bars on the OZ (RMR) it would pinch the hose causing nothing to come out.
