The differences are that on an evo 8 the oil pressure sending unit screws into a small tapered thread hole in the back of the block, and an evo 9 has that same hole tapped to i believe 12mm. This is then used with a banjo bolt to feed oil through a pipe to the cylinder head. An evo 9 has the oil press, unit down on the oil filter bracket. You can drill the evo 8 block to accept the evo 9 banjo bolt but you cant go from an evo 9 to an 8

yes u can use a 8 head with a 9 block but u need to put an adapter in place of the banjo bolt to put your oil presser sending unit to the block.

they are the same block. Just one hole on the block is taped to a different size.

Its thread differences, are you serious? why don't you guys develop an adapter kit. one from 8-9 and on from 9-8. i have been thinking about it and the easiest way would be to make a braided steel oil line to come from the mivec solenoid to the tapered thread in the block.

the other way around would be even easier. Buy yourself a ix filter housing and plug the whole in the block...done

probably better to post this in the classifieds section instead of bumping an 8 year old thread.
