Evo 8 Vs Evo 9 Block Differences?

I really havent got a good answer form anybody on this? What is the difference between the evo 8 and 9 shortblock? Can I (owning a 9) bolt up an evo 8 shortblock to my mivec head? Somebody please help!!!

i don't think you can as their is an oil passage or something along those lines for the mivec, but i do believe you can get it machined.

i was under the impression the 9 block is taller by 10mm or something?
thats what i was told when i ordered a new block

I'm wondering this also, Except bolting a 9 block into a 8. My engines miles are getting up there and looking at doing this in the future.

External dimensions are the same, they're not taller.
