I just recently had valves installed. stock valve size and had head studs, hks 272 cams. we put the motot back together last night and tried to start the car but the car was sitting for about 2 months and wouldnt start. getting ignition and fuel but as we were cranking puffs of smoke was coming out of the intake. its smelled like fuel. is that something to worry about?? i kept getting air surges. i was looking at my boost gauge and it was bouncing from 0 to 5 on the pressure side not vacume side. please let me know what you guys think. also did a slight port and polish on the head.

 

Sounds like the time I put a motor together and I had no idea what valve timing was lol. Check the cams and gears and make sure your lined up bro.

 

anyone have any ideas?? car hasnt been started in about 3 months. could it be no fuel in the lines thats why its having such a hard time starting. i am wondering about the backfire out the intake though. my boost gauge is putting out pressure instead of vacuming is that ok??
