Cosi M2 vs GSC S1 Evo 8 dyno compare / FP-Grn on 91 octane

I want to thank James @ Reese tuning in santee for allowing me throw my car on his rollers last night.

I recently added some cosi m2 cams, in a quest for more power on pump gas while still maintaining great drivability.

We fiddled around with some cam timig & threw a few tweaks @ the maps before the final pull....I still have more work to do

Since this scan isnt so clear, here are the peak numbers for each cam set, all while using the same "STD" correction. The night was cooler for the GSC cam'd dyno run too by 5* F.

Cosi M2 415.7 whp / 382.8 tq

GSC S1 404.6 whp 361.1 tq

The cosi m2 cams have a wicked idle; for me, but drive 98% as smooth as the s1's. The m2's have a bigger punch in the meat of the power band on my car too. For ~1,700 revs, i am making over 400whp!!

My car is knocky & I cant add as much timing as i would like >6,300 on up till redline...maybe i should have tried less boost/more timing Next time

I am running ~0.8 psi more boost from 4k-6,500...pretty much the same up top.

The cosi cams are nice & really get it done up top....i need a new clutch, then i will throw in some decent fuel & see what she will do!!

The gsc s1 cams are a great all around cam...i think the s1's are a great compromise of all good qualities!

Here is the compare:

the duration of the Cosi M2 is 272, but with a crazy lift (almost like a 280)

this is from memory...

cosi evo 8 m2 = 272/272 dur. & 11.0mm/11.0mm lift
gsc s1 evo 8 = 268in/266ex @ 10.5mm/10.5mm lift

.....my s1 are the earleir version, so there is less duration on the exh cam vs. what is being currently offered = 268*

So the new S1's were modified with more duration
How would you compare your car vs a 2.3 using those cams, just a slight aprox since I know your car is a 2.0. Im in the research of cams for my car to try to make more power with less boost

I am guessing the M2's are here to stay??

I'm going to be at those numbers this week on 91 octane... I might have missed it but what boost pressure did you end up with on the Cossie cams? I'm curious to share information with you...

Cheers-
E

Nice Aby. I bet your 65mm TB helps your engine breathe a lot better with the M2's in there
