Best downpipe/ecu combo?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post but I have lurked here for a while.

One of my friends has an early evo 8 without ACD. He is keeping it mildly modded and wants to change the downpipe as well as get a reflash. Those are the only mods planned for the car. A catback is a slight possibility. Cams definitely a no go. The car will remain more or less stock since it has very low miles and he wants to keep it fresh.

So which downpipe and ecu reflash would work the best in conjunction with eachother? Would a 70mm make more power than a 3" due to the mild mods? Would a 2.5" be even better? The downpipe will have to bolt right up to the stock cat configuration.

Also, he wants to get a hfc or a testpipe. Will the testpipe pass inspection if emissions aren't required?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

just get a true turbo back exhaust, it will be better in the long run, as for tuning, i would suggest finding someone local to tune your car, if there are no good local tuners i would seek out someone on here with a high reputation such as ams or john Bradley.
