br 3065 or hta 35r

need advice again from u evo guys.

im buying a kit with my tax return...in a couple of weeks, here is my ques

i wanna stay on stock block for as long as possible. going to be running 93 pump as well as c16 on occasion. i dont daily drive my car either. my mods are in my sig and thats pretty much what ill be having with the kit besides upgrading a clutch too. still going to stay on stock maf too. so 3065 or hta 35r?
i know the go big or go home approach but my pockets arent that deep to "pop" a motor and build it that easily. thanks for the input fellas.

lastly i was thinking maybe a 3065 and then eventually hta that when available.
lag isnt a big deal but i also dont want a 1500 rpm powerband either

thanks cj

^^ if it was me and u wanna stay on the stock block i would go with the fp-3065r, i wouldnt run the hta on a stock block especially on c-16... but thats the safe way to go.

Hey CJ!
For primarily pump gas use with occasional C16, you'd be better off for your overall drivability and powerband with the smaller, though the only difference in this case will be the turbine wheel between the two. Because both use a 35R compressor wheel there are turbos that would do a better job of pump gas warrioring with rare C16 use (3076R or similar). You can set up a safe tune on any turbo so I suppose the best question to ask would be how far are you willing to push the boost level and to what power level? Selecting the turbo that will reach its maximum potential somewhere near those figures will offer the best overall driving experience for your stock internals plans. If you'd like to discuss options in more detail definitely don't hesitate to get a hold of me!

I dont' see why FP couldn't mod a 3065 to HTA status...Like mentioned same compressor wheel.

I personally feel the turbo has no place, it was one of the first gt series put out there...

GT3040r which is the same as the gt3065.

I don't feel the extra lag the big compressor wheel brings to the table is worth the slight power gain over the gt3076r

I would concur that I feel the 3076R is a better matched compressor/turbine wheel combo
