50 Trim +

I am looking to run an easy low 11 nothing more planned for the future (ie. without launching my car). I also want to stay on 93 octane without nitrous or meth and run 24-25 psi max.

My current setup is 340whp with full bolt ons with the exception of cams @ 21 psi and a custom tune.

This is my DD and it will never see a road course and maybe a drag strip 1-2 times. I am building it to be a really fun street car.

I have been looking at the 50 trim kit.
1.) Will this kit do what I want in the 1/4?
2.) What whp #'s have people seen at 24-25psi on 93 octane without meth or nitrous with this kit?
3.) Is the 6 speed/ACD/clutch pretty safe at the 50 trim #'s.
4.) If this kit is not enough, what would get me to my goal, 3076, gt35r, etc?
5.) If I do need a different kit, what drivetrain mods would this require (if any) and would I be pushing my DD luck at these levels.

Thanks a lot!

I can tell you a 50 wont do it especially without a launch. You loss about 1 sec if you dont launch.

you got launch good to get a low 11sec pass. I would go with the ETS 58trim.....great turbo kit and their new super value kit is $3000. The 58 trim should post a low 11s pass with good launch.

A full second without a launch? Not too sure about that, I dont granny it out of the gate.
I was looking at the 58 trim as well. How does this compare to the gt35r? I am really looking to buy a used kit and the gt35r kits are much more available than the others. Maybe there is a reason for this.
Is the 58 trim still good for a DD car as far as how quick it spools?
What supporting mods would I need for the 58?
What hp levels are you seeing with a 58 trim on 93 octane at 25 psi no meth/nitrous.

If you spin the tires when you take off then you ARE launching. If you take off without spinning the tires at all then you ARE granny out of the gate . So which is it?

Well last time I was at the track i tried it. With normal take off like driving off from stop light then flooring it I ran a 13.59. With slipping the clutch slightly then flooring it I ran a 13.39. With launching the car off the 5800rpm 2 step I ran a 12.6. So you could lose up to a full sec. This was with 335whp

I just have the 57 trim turbo from ETS, which is a bit smaller than the 58trim but i took the car to the track for the first time with the turbo and had a crappy launch with the new clutch and i posted 11.9 at 119mph on pump gas (92 octane). I know if i was to go back with the car today, with a good lauch, i could do 11.6s or so with higher trap. Tom from ETS is running the 58 trim turbo on his personal car......give him a call and he will be able to help you more.

The supporting mods you need will be basic bolt on such as cam, TBE, MBC...etc.

Without launching the car, you will never see low 11's regarless of the turbo. I think a 50 trim is capable of it and I intend to prove it hopefully this weekend. 500WHP should be able to get me there. Why drag race if you don't want to launch?

Three of our latest customers ran low 11's with our 50 trim hybrids.
Completely possible with pump gas.

Thats what I was saying about no launching. Let us know your results. Im also going for close to or a little above 500WHP and my goal is to get to very low 11s. If I tap the 10.99s that would be unbelievable but I would be happy with an 11.1

Pump gas and no launch..... good luck.

I say learn how to launch. If you are worried about drivetrain carnage then don't get a crazy strong clutch.

The biggest PITA is gonna be shifting. You will run out of 4th gear and making the shift to 5th kills most runs. I highly recommend getting an EVO8 4th gear installed in your tranny when doing the clutch.

My wifes car made a lil over 420 WHP at 18psi w/ a 50 trim but w/ all supporting mods. so i think a 50 trim will do just fine. We are hoping to see about 480ish at 24psi.

The GT35R really won't be coming on hard at that low of a boost level. I know Dave B. is making crazy numbers on pump gas with an HTA35R, but you have to consider the supporting mods that car has, and the constant attention that car gets to keep it tuned right.

Stick with the smaller turbos if you plan on staying on pump only.
