I Have An Evo 8, Since I Change My Clutch To Act I Have Problems. The Lat One I Bouth,(extreme) Mb017x, And The 50/50 Disc Just Worked Perfect But By The Time Passed, The Gears Started To Get Difficult To Get In, Sudenly All The Gears Doesnt Get In From Almost 5000rpm Up. I Pressthe Clutch And I Try To Engange It And I Need To Wait Till It Engage... Also If Im On First Gear, With The Vlutch Pedal All The Way To The Floor And I Accelerate The Engine It Tries To Run. Do Like A Little Jump. I Just Put 2 Small Washers On Each Bolt Of The Pressure Plate To Make A Gap, The Clutch Pedal Is More Smoother, But I Still Have The Same Problem. Also The Clutch Makes Contact Almost At The Top Of The Pedal..please Help Me..

You shimmed the pressure plate away from the flywheel?

Did you try to adjust the clutch rod prior to shimming the pressure plate?

few things here.. The act is notorious for the high rpm lockout. On top of that your clutch pedal needs to be adjusted.

I was going to read it and give my input, but I would have gotten a headache from the way you type.

Adjust clutch pedal out. There is a how-too in the 'How-Too' section.

Diddo! Get a twin disc and adjust your pedal! ACT clutch discs expand under heat which make it hard to disengage and engage. In my opinion act clutches are garbage for the dsm's and evos!

I had the ACT for 30,000 miles and never once had a high RPM lockout problem, and oddly none of my other friends with EVOs who had the ACT had that problem either. Sounds like something else is the problem, not the clutch mfg.

Its your clutch had the same problem. I adjusted it every way you could think and still didnt work. I cant wait to put the triple plate in not to have this problem any more.
