desial engine sound after build
this is one of the things you should check along with everything else the guys suggested..
this is the sequence i will do it:
1- boost leak test
2- compression test
3- leak down test
4- bleed the lifters (assuming you re-used old ones)
5- open up the engine should be your last resource.
good luck and keep me posted
its normal noise i think as i had the same noise when i installed my new 2.3l short block and stage 3 cilender head ,but after finishing my break in period its gets better .
now my engine is loud when my car is cold ..and than it gets beter when its fully warmed up .
thats wat jam told me too ,when i istalled there engine .

Once it's warmed up, the pistons expand and take up the extra clearance. Forged pistons make noise when they're cold. Just something you have to deal with when you have a built motor.
