desial engine sound after build

hmmm maybe a valve knock... do you know where the sound is comming from?? my injector knocks lol... normal?

did you just install the cams? did you re-use your old lifters?? if so..did you remember to bleed them..

this is one of the things you should check along with everything else the guys suggested..

this is the sequence i will do it:

1- boost leak test
2- compression test
3- leak down test
4- bleed the lifters (assuming you re-used old ones)
5- open up the engine should be your last resource.

its normal noise i think as i had the same noise when i installed my new 2.3l short block and stage 3 cilender head ,but after finishing my break in period its gets better .
now my engine is loud when my car is cold ..and than it gets beter when its fully warmed up .
thats wat jam told me too ,when i istalled there engine .

Once it's warmed up, the pistons expand and take up the extra clearance. Forged pistons make noise when they're cold. Just something you have to deal with when you have a built motor.

With forged pistons I would be worried if they didnt diesel when cold. Because if they are quiet when cold the builder didnt set piston to wall clearance high enough.
