Help!! Water Inlet pipe problem

On the way back from work this morning on the freeway (cruising at 70mph if it makes any difference) I noticed my temp gauge start rising rapidly; I immediately looked in my rearview mirror and could see a trail of liquid coming from my car. I pulled over onto the shoulder and turned the car off. By then there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. I could see coolant dripping from underneath the engine bay but I couldn't determine where.

I had a flatbed take the car to my mechanic only a few miles away from where I was. and we got some decent light and started inspecting the engine bay. We found out the water inlet pipe had come loose from the water pump:

We've been looking at the diagrams and cannot see anything that keeps the hose in place other than the O-ring (part number is 20):

Plugging the tube back into the water pump does nothing as I can easily pull it back out. It looks like the end of the tube had some red RTV, but that obviously did not keep it from popping off. Can anyone verify for me please?

Thanks for the response, do you know if there is a special type of hose clamp there? Only reason I ask is when we plug the pipe into the water pump it isn't a flush surface for a normal hose clamp to hold it in place. Looks like this if it helps:

Sorry I know the drawing is retarded...

Unfortunately I am new to Evo's so I don't know anyone local who could look for me. And as far as warranty, it's expired and the service dept is closed on the weekends.
