That's what most people do, the stock Evo manifold seems to be really good. I plan on getting a PPI "extreme ported" and coated Evo manifold very shortly. The gains are pretty good but I don't know exact numbers since I haven't done it yet.

Hope this helps.

Youl net a small gain after a tune and slightly different exhaust note possibly. But i personally think its BUTT UGLY coated or not. Get a nice $$ ported and polished tubular ex manifold. Try to stay away from the cheapies they seem to crack often

+1 - Ported & Coated stocker is still very ugly... I think I'm going to spring for the extra bling, HP/Trq & $$ and go with the Full-Race manifold...

It does it's job. If it really is still ugly in your eyes, you could buy a nice Ti Manifold cover like Arc's =D
I'm planning on porting my stocker thru PPI as well.

Why spend boku bucks on a tubular that will only slow you down? port the stocker for cheap, make power, and buy a blingin cover. All that for half the price of something that is just going to crack more than likely.

Oh by the way I will have a ported stocker for sale in the next 2 weeks.

It's my understanding that the Full-Race manifold makes more power everywhere over the ported stocker, and it definitely looks better than a bling cover, IMO...

Well is there a way to go over the welds on a MR ss manifold to strengthen the welds and prevent the manifold from cracking? Or perhaps there is a way to still brace the turbo setup off the bracket that the factory 02 bolts to even though you maybe running an aftermarket housing.
