I wouldn't rev to 8K on the stock drivetrain. What would you rather do: 1) take the insurance of installing the springs/retainers while the cams are already out and not have the anxiety of fubarring your drivetrain or B) Having a heartbeat at a million miles an hour every time you approached 8K worrying about a valve kissing a piston?

Insurance please...

Cheers-
E

i would install valve springs and retainers....even cossworth recommends them with their cams...
more aggressive cams=stiffer springs

what about for the HKS 272 intake and exhaust cams? they say stock springs and retainers will work. Would I still need to upgrade to be safe?

you dont need to...however if you replace them you will have a higher margin of safety!! believe just do the piece of mind and get them

+1 agred on that. peace of mind is a wonderful thing. just a quick add. what happens if or when you miss shift by accident at 6-6.5k could be mind blowing, lol. added safety is always welcome.

whats up DXB havent seen u on in a bit?

dont mean to ruin the thread...hahah

but to answer your question purevibez i am very good..infact today i am better than what i have been through this past month..now my car is coming all together..installing the cosworth head along with the M3 mivec cams...ams vsr..BR 1000cc injectors...BR piece of art RACE intercooler along with pipes..BR hta35r..BR twin pumps...BR 3" dp...hoping to get the car cranked this coming saturday...

my intention was to get the BR 2.0 but unfortunately i ran out of funds coz stupid me bought a whole bunch of aesthetic stuff from rexpeed/apr/ralliart/bride
so that put an ugly hole in my pocket...

how have you been? anything new?
