You have a point. This thread has swayed from the original subject twice now.

Sorry fellas, I get a little caught-up sometimes.

BTW I did some experimenting today on the highway. Seems like in 4th and 5th gear cruising at around 3200-3500 RPM, if I were at around aprox. 1/4 throttle and rolled to about 1/2 or a little more I would get pretty close to full boost.

So maybe PTFB is not such a big issue on the EVO. Maybe a 2 stage EBC would be the way to go. If thats the route you wanna take. I would like to hear from an expert, as I'm curious to know.

Myself, I think I'm gonna go with the XEDE piggy back that controls boost with the factory controller just to be on the safe side.

I have the boost control that the Xede offers. All it is, is a seperate map that allows you to use up to 99% of available boost at the given RPM level. It isnt that great, but I see about 1-2psi more.... Shiv also gives you a boost line, which bleeds off boost for some reason... I had to take it out because I was hitting fuel cut... like 1.55bar almost with this line in~!~!~ Almost 22 - 23 psi~!~

Anyway, that is VERY good that the EVO hits close to full boost at partial throttle that makes me feel safe....

I just ordered the Blitz SBC ID, it has i believe two adjustable boost settings. One I will keep around 16psi, and the other I will have at 20.5 or 21psi (cant decide yet, whichever doesnt give me fuel cut) That way I can stay away from part throttle/complete full boost situations!

Thanks everyone for chiming in on this thread. It looks like the EVO doesnt suffer (or should suffer) as bad as the WRX does at part throttle/full boost.

My spreadsheet program is not working right now. I think the first one of these shows how open loop is engaged at 25% throttle.

HINT: Look for the point when the O2 becomes steady.
