I have a number of cars i can test it on if you want.

a stock turbo 8 or 9
an 8 with a white rabbit
a 9 with a green
an 8 with a 61 trim

any combo you want it tested on, its up to you, lets see this happen

EvolutionM mods deleting my posts when I said nothing out of line is BS. Another reason why these forums are more full of crap than every thread on DSMTooners put together.....

What I don't understand is WHY Magnus's new design manifold was never tested? If this was such a big deal, and it was going to end up as a major feature article in a magazine, none of the parties involved in the testing could come up with a current design Magnus manifold, considering the potential harm one could do to another's business if this important information is disclosed or not?

How convenient, some whatever manifold with Magnus's name on it was bought from EBAY of all places, and this was the example used for testing, yet the manufactuer in question never had a chance to prove himself by having an example of his current product in this "test". What a joke.

Thats not true. I have seen backfires and NOS problems bloat a quality smim. The one in the pics is torn open like a tuna can. The OP said he didnt hear a backfire, just a pop.

I have seen backfires that destroy intake manifolds too, in person. Have you? They sound like a huge ***ing explosion. So basicly what your saying is that when designing a sheetmetal intake manifold (or any product for that matter), that the design should not only perform excellent, but should be able to have the integrity to withstand a huge blast from the idiot user's crappy nitrous/methanol injection setup? Get real. While they are at it, manufactuers should design products to withstand multiple sledgehammer blows, since that is a normal occurence in your typical internal combustion engine.

No of course not, my point here was that this was under normal spirited driving to redline. You see the results, he wasnt using excess boost or nitrous. It was on a daily driver with meth, that shouldnt tear open your smim. If you are going to use a crappy nitrous/methanol injection setup then use a blow out panel in your expensive smim, right?

I have seen IAC motors explode and stock intake manifolds crack from a meth explosion in the plenum. A sheet metal unit will never hold up. That is a fact.

mmmkay.... a buddy of mine who owns a decked out wrx and a few DSM's here in town have had their manifold crack at the welds. one actually blew the whole seam weld at only 20 psi on a 18g. looks like it was unzipped.
heres just one of many posts: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt...-manifold.html
funny how Brent Rau doesn't even use a magnus manifold yet is sponsored by them. those things are trash. JMF, AMS, BJ's, intake mani's are much better.
if your manifold blew up, chances you have a bad tune and the car backfire. But what the fk do i know. I'm only a two times overall champion winner at Redline time Attack with MAgnus manifold/fpgreen against stroker/big turbos evos/STI.

Weird...I've never seen a stock intake mani explode as a result of a meth backfire?
