GSC S1s on GT35R??
How restrictive are these cams on the 35R. My car is not making the power it should nore is it picking up anywhere close to the power it should from 22psi to 30psi and race fuel. Im wondering if the cams are to blame??
what numbers are you pulling and what type of dyno?
Have you done any other test to ensure everything else is working properly? The S1 cams would not hold back the 35R to make a dramatic horsepower loss difference.

Well running it through DLL on the same exact setting and the same exact stretch of road its showing a consistant 380s 390HP on 23psi pump gas. The 9 turbo was showing 370HP on average.... The car doesnt feel much faster at all as well. The 9 turbo on 29psi spike and 110 fuel DLLed 430HP and the 35R is showing 440HP at 29-30psi on the same 110 fuel..
It's also been on a dyno jet and tuned by myself and another great tuner.. but until the cars issue is sorted out ill leave that for another day. But the DLL VS Dyno jet is very close in HP difference from race to pump gas tune..23-30PSI. So it has an issue somewhere Im just not sure where. Leak down is from 3-6% and compression test on my gauge here is 180 across the board so the engine is appearing to be in very good shape. Im lost.. Im am no newbie to the 4g63 or tuning these and many other engines thats for sure... and I am totally in aw right now from confusion....

Hey colt, i doubt its the cams. I made 460whp (dj) at 26 psi with a dynoflash reflash pumpgas tune with a little race gas in the tank. That was with little
HKS 264's and the S1's are suppose to show gains over the hks.

I know its easy to blame the tune not knowing what it could be, but I can assure you its not that... Cam timing could be to blame for some of it.. that does make some sense. Retard the cams for more top end power... But id rather go to better cams for my setup before I did that.... They are on stock cams gears. The head has never been off the car so I know the cams are doin what they were designed to do as a bolt in application and shouldnt be off from the manufacture specs timing wise. I also visually checked the cams out and see no wear or any signs of issue there.

Stock cams gears really don't make that much difference. I've ran both stock and adjustable on my Cossie M2's and gains are minimal.
The 35R is a higher REV turbo. It is the most efficient at higher WHP. On 264's or comparable, they start gasping for air at higher RPM's...so you do the math. This isn't to say that you won't make good power or you won't have a fun car but, just wont be as efficient.

^On a bigger turbo there is alot of Air volume...Cam gears matter! Althought they are only 264's they are also high lift, so they are not THAT bad.

I am in the same boat... Same numbers with dll vs dynojet. I am currently getting rid of the HKS 272's and throwing in the BF 272's and springs and retainers. My main power difference is in cold weather vs warm weather. 380-390 DLL warm 430whp DLL cold. I have also run about 28psi on pump lower timing and it produces around the same numbers. Something seems to be holding my efficency back and I am not sure what it is.. I am 100% sure it is not my tuner 2 people have tried to tune it and the car just won't produce the numbers I feel it should have.

Adam and Dustin, post up your entire mod lists w/brands there might be something in common.
I can tell you this 35R with stock cams will barely make 400awhp regardless off boost/timing strategies so a mild cam could hold you back. Cam gears would be a crutch.
I'm running HKS 280s for what it's worth but will be going to Buschur BF 272 once I do the built shorty/head/springs/retainers
my complete current mod list for comparison:
BR HTA 35R @ 30psi on 93 octane
HKS 280 cams
PTE 1000cc injectors
BR twin walbro fuel pumps
BR 3" tbe, test pipe, bullet muffler
BR 3" intake pipe + Mas adapter
BR UICP
BR Mini Battery
BR Race FMIC
ARP head studs
PPI ported stock intake manifold
PPI 65MM throttle body
Exedy Twin Disc HD clutch
My tuning www.mellontuning.com
I made 500awhp on 93 octane with the stock intake, throttle body and BR deluxe FMIC and I just retuned it after the twin pump and 1000cc injectors last week:
