The IX bov's seem to be all over the place on what they will hold.

I have seen some not be able to hold 24psi, some won't hold 27psi, etc etc

By hold I mean holding that boost to fuel cut off, not peak boost.

EDIT: I've run mine to 27 PSI.
And how far should I crush it in?

Ok guys I crushed it almost to where the nipple hits the bottom (bout .200 left). I have more room if I need to crush it more when I get the meth. I run 24 psi on pump...I think it may have been leaking cause the car hits harder on the boost spike...it feels better for sure...I have not got any shutter so far.

Kyle: I am still not clear on just how much you actually crushed it. I crushed mine about 3/16". But, I think that I went a bit too far, as it flutters noticeably on low RPM, light throttle shifts.

I crushed it bout 1/2 way...there is not a lot of room in the first place to crush it. I just crushed it a little...17mm socket worked great. I guess I crushed it 3/36

I need to pressure check it though and see when it starts to leak.

eponti: You need to be real cautious. Just indent it about 1/8-3/16".

Definitely use a bench vise with some wood strips or rawhide on the vise jaws so as not to damage the aluminum. Place the DV in the vise jaws and center a 17mm socket over the top of the DV. Tighten the vise down just a wee bit. Take it out and try it. Better to crush a little bit and then test it on the car.

I dont get why people talk about the MR dv and IX dv being different theyre EXACTLY the same. The IX dv is rated at 25psi, someone was telling me about this bov you can buy and its the same thing as the IX bov but just a stiffer spring and holds more boost (up to 30 i think it was)
