Cosworth M2 Mivec IX Cams need Valvesprings?

I recently purchased these Cams. I would like to know if anyone suggests getting Springs and retainers if i have the cars rev limiter tuned and set to 7400 RPMS?
I feel no need to rev higher then 7400 RPMS since i will be using the stock turbo and it feels to run outta breath past 7200 anyways. Has anyone had issues under 7400 RPMS with these cams. I dont want to smack a valve.

No. You don't need them for your goals, but you could change them all at once to save on labor.

I was thinking about getting the Supertech Dual Valve springs and Ti retainers with new valve seals, etc. AMS in chicago wants like 360 to install just the springs and retains while they are doing the cams. Plus the springs will cost me like 250 or 300. Do you think it would be worth it if i dont plan on getting a bigger turbo than a FP Green should i say?

You can rev it to 8000rpm, with no problem, but I shift at 7500rpm cuz that enough for the stock turbo

I myself bought these cams along with the Cosworth single springs. The insert on the cams says no need to change retainers, to use the OEM. I wanted to verify this info so I called Cosworth direct and they also said the same thing. Use the OEM retainers although I've gotten different advice from installers that say to get titanium retainers. Not sure what I'm going to do yet but if Cosworth says no retainers needed they must know what they're talking about since it is their cams and springs I bought.

just put in single supertech springs ....
that will be more than enough and allow you to rev to 8.5k if you ever upgrade the turbo.

if you really want dual Valve springs, the Ferrea ones are a drop in affair.
no need for the valve stem seals to be done like the supertech duals.

it comes in kit with the spring seat locater.
but ye it does make sense to put them in seeing as you pulling out the cams.

well here's the deal some people would recomend them some wont therefore you will get a difference in opinions the key is to learn from people that are smart in this business and that have done there research.

my self i decided to go with supertech's singles and Ti-retairners, Bushur, and many other people that are trusted in theis business reccomended them,,,, it gives me piece of mind knowing that i wont smack a valve with a piston.

This is true. How much more did it cost you to purchase the single springs with ti retainers installed?

I installed my cams last week. I went through the same process, do i need to or not. After speaking to a few people I decided to do springs and retainers simply for the safety factor. Get GSC springs and retainers. They're just as good as the Supertechs and they are cheaper.

$400 bucks??? Where??? Ams wants 6-8 hours on springs and retainers and $425 to install cams at the same time. Plus 95 to do the headstuds. That's over a thousand dollars in labor. Plus the price of cams, springs/retainers and studs. Like what 2 grand to do the whole thing??? Wtf
