1680WHP - Buschur Racing Pump Gas Domination!

Everyone knows Buschur Racing has been pumping out 550+WHP cars for the last year or so. Everyone has aslo been asking about track times and reliability questions. Well here’s your answer.
Eric (SPIN2GST) and Jeff (VWJeff) and I met up with David Buschur at Dragway 42 this morning to have a fun filled day of drag racing.
Eric’s car makes 554whp on 93 octane – here are the details on Eric’s car - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/showthread.php?t=329401
Jeff’s car makes 573whp on 93 octane – here are the details on Jeff’s car - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=341066
My car makes 553whp on 93 octane – here are the details on my car - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/showthread.php?t=338153
If you know how to add, that’s 1680WHP COMBINED!!
All of these cars are true street cars. Power windows, air conditioning, sunroofs, street tires and full weight.
Eric’s car has a little over 2000 miles on the motor. He drives it to work about 3 times a week at about 100 miles per day so it’s definitely not a track only car. The car only sees Shell 93 octane. The last time he was at the track the AEM EMS decided to flat line all channels under hard acceleration. The box was sent back to AEM last week for repairs and today was the first time on the track with the fresh box. Eric's car has Kumho MX tires, Apexi N1 Coilovers and weighs in at 3150lbs. Front and rear bumper beams are removed along with the charcoal canister and spare tire, jack and tool kit. Eric's best time at the track a couple of weeks ago was 10.96 @ 134.3 on 27 psi with a 1.8111 60ft. After the first run David looked at the log and noticed it wasn’t reading the air/fuel ratio, which means the sensor has gone bad. There was no knock in the log and David didn’t want to mess with the tune without the AFR. So they decided to leave it as is. I'm sure there was some power left on the table but that will have to wait until the sensor gets replaced. Eric made 4 passes today all between 10.8-11.1 @ 134.
Here’s the slip from Eric’s best run -
60ft – 1.6742
330ft – 4.6521
1/8 mile – 7.0691 @ 99.49
1000ft – 9.1040
1/4 mile – 10.8250 @ 134.73
Jeff’s car has SSR comp rims with the stock Advan tires. He has stock struts with Tanabe GF210 springs. He has removed the front and rear bumper beams, gas tank charcoal canister, spare tire, jack and tools. He has also installed the Buschur Racing lightweight center member bar and the rear diff support bar.
He left Columbus this morning with a 1/2 tank of gas, drove 110.2 miles and arrived at the track with a 1/4 tank of gas. He drove the car 221 miles today and averaged over 30mpg. He made 4 runs today. His first run out, he went 10.82 @ 140.14MPH at 32psi. David took a look at the logs and pulled a little timing out. But other than that, the tune was great. Jeff developed boost control issues for a couple runs, so they put the car on wastegate pressure. Later they came to find out the vacuum line to the wastegate had a hole in it. His car is going to be NASTY once he gets the car dialed in. Here is his slip from his last run on wastegate pressure.
60ft – 1.8119
330ft – 4.7269
1/8 mile – 7.07 @ 104.66
1000ft – 9.0208
1/4 mile – 10.7389 @ 137.98
Now on to my car. My car has Nexan 3000 tires (that’s what was on the car when I bought it) so by no means a quality high performance tire!! The only things I have removed on my car are front and rear bumper beams, gas tank charcoal canister, intercooler sprayer bottle and spare tire and jack. I also had a half tank of gas today. I made a total of 6 runs today. First run out, I went 10.9 @ 134. David looked at the logs and everything was looking good. I was peaking right at 30psi after each gear change but would quickly drop to 27/28psi for the rest of the gear. AFR was a little rich so he pulled a little fuel and it was perfect. He didn’t touch the timing at all today. My last 3 runs, I briefly looked at the logs, didn’t see anything that needed attention, so I kept on racing without David seeing the logs. My first 4 runs were 11.0 – 10.80 @ 134-135MPH. My 5th run they only gave me 1/8 mile info but it was better than the first 4 by quite a bit. My last run was a full 1/4 mile pass and the 1/8 mile info was the same as the 5th run. Here’s the slip!
60ft – 1.6709
330ft – 4.5997
1/8 mile – 6.9660 @ 101.51
1000ft – 8.9480
1/4 mile – 10.6470 @ 135.07
Here is the video of the run -

I am freaking ecstatic today. I was grinning the whole way home….which was a 3 hour drive. On my drive home today, I filled up with Sunoco 94. I have about 140 miles on the tank and I’m sitting at 3/4 of a tank still. Unreal gas mileage!!
RELIABILITY
Now on to the reliability. Quite a few professional tuners and many forum members think these types of engines aren’t going to last for very long. With proper maintenance, there should be no reason they won’t.
Jeff’s engine has very few miles on it right now. I’d guess about 600 miles or so. But he drove about 250 miles round trip today to meet up with us and race at the track. He had no problems at all.
Eric’s engine has about 2000 miles on it. He drive’s the car daily 3 or 4 days a week to work in stop and go traffic without issue. He went to the track a couple weeks ago without issue and he went today without issue.
My engine now has ~1200 miles on it. I drove from Cincinnati to Eric’s house on Thursday night, then to Buschur’s Friday morning for a c-16 tune then back to my Eric’s house and went to the track today. I then drove the car home after that. Not one single issue!! That’s about 600 miles round trip between all that. I even had the AC on most of the drive home. I also got about 270 miles on one tank of gas. I’ve done one oil change since getting the car back. I cut the oil filter open and it was clean as can be. This was the filter David made 553whp on pump gas with. If there was a problem with the motor, it would have been in this filter. I’ll be doing another oil change this week and I expect this filter to look perfect also.
David and the whole Buschur Racing crew. It’s been said by the three of us so many times…but THANK YOU!! We are happy that we were able to come out today and represent what you can do with these cars. The three of us WILL go 9’s on race gas this summer!! I GAURANTEE IT!

Freaking awesome post. Like I said in VWJeff's topic, THANK YOU, all three of you. I had a great time today and I just can't tell you guys enough how proud of was of your driving and how well the cars performed. Thanks for bringing the cars to us for us to build them and for letting me tune them.
I am sure you guys will go 9's this year, positive.
Thank YOU again.
You guys have now set the bar for pump gas and what kind of Mustang Dyno WHP numbers it takes to run these numbers.
553 whp=135.5 mph
554 whp=134.7 mph
573 whp=137.9 mph
Holy crap am I impressed.
