any reason behind this? Most threads I found the IX has small gains for the price...the VIII seems to make great gains however...whats the story here?
and Im talking about pumpgas and no meth and reasonable boost 22-25psi...
I just havent found alot of benefit for the cost

 

The IX turbo is bigger than the VIII turbo, so the gains will be smaller. If you want to make good power on it, get alky injection. If you want to 'max' it out on pump gas, port your IM/TB, Exh Mani, Turbine housing, do SS o2 housing, etc. It's not like stepping to a 35R from a stock turbo, it's like adding another bolt-on power mod. 25whp or so.

 

In pump trim this turbo is still a great add on, read through this thread OKIX's car on pump still is a killerhttps://www.evolutionm.net/forums/showthread.php?t=310098. 9sec9 could provide more info about pump trim, what they have done on a Green should be a blueprint for anyone considering that turbo.

 

I gained 43whp (across powerband, Mustang Dyno) and 11mph in the quarter mile going from:

IX Turbo
Stock Manifold/Stock O2
93 Pump Only

to

Green Turbo
Ported Manifold/Ported O2
93 Pump Only

 

About a 50HP gain on average with a pretty much similar set-up and boost levels... sounds pretty reasonable for a upgrade like this...
