Resurface ACT pressure plate?

I recently toasted my organic disc at the track. I am going to a puck clutch....ACT said that I could just machine the flywheel (Xact prolite)and pressure plate (HD)...that way all I would have to buy is the disk, 125$ Have any of you guys dont this before?

Thanks,
Kyle

You can resurface the flywheel and the casting on the pressure plate but we don't recommend the latter. To do the pressure plate it would require that it be diassembled and put back together. Once it was put back together it would need to be rebalanced.

Unless you have a qualified clutch rebuilder in your area that can do all of the above I'm pretty certain that we would not have told you to resurface it. Veriify that the surface of the pressure plate is still even and not warped or cracked with a straight edge. If you're not sure you can email us some pics and we can take a look at it and try to make a determination. The email address is info@advancedclutch.com. One of out techs will get back to you tomorrow.

Thanks again for choosing ACT.

I would just buy a brand new unit... The good thing with the ACT products is their low price compared to their performance...

ACT guys... are you going to come out with a twin disc or what...?

Thanks ACT! I will try and sendsome pics over (and one of your techs told me it would be ok to resurface) I dont BS...no point...u ght have to slap your techs around.

Clutch disk 125$

Clutch kit 500$

I would really like to just get the disk.

Im about to say screw it and hit the Pressure plate with a light abrasive and get the flywheel turned and test my luck.
