my clutch just went at 8k also. I bought an ACT MB7-HDSS with the prolight flywheel. Should have it in next week some time. I did a lot of searching and decided this would be the best setup for me. It is a very tough decision as there are so many different clutches out there. I had an excedy twin in my 03 and didnt want to go with a twin disc this time around. Good luck! BTW i got it from Chris at nolimitmotors. They also sell excedy clutches at a great price also if you decide to go that route.

Why did you not want a twin this time around?

i want a smooth engaging clutch without the decel noise that can still hold the power i,m making easily. The ACT i picked will do just that.

What is decel noise?

I use an ORC409D super single that is a matched set with flywheel, metal disk, pressure ring, aluminium cover and release bearing. I am not sure how much they cost in the US but they are about $650 with the current yen rate over here. Yes, I realize this is $150 more than you stated but you will be receiving more than just a clutch. The setup is rated for 400whp. I use the model without dampening springs because the dampeners normally fail while the clutch disk has lots of life left on it!!

A replacement disk is about $250.

Decel noise is just clutch chatter caused by the disks chattering against each other either in between shifts, or there is a slight chatter when you are in gear and letting the car decelerate without applying the brake.

I have been using metal disk and multi-disk setups for years and I have never encountered "decel noise".

Clattering between shifts is no big deal unless you drive with the clutch pedal at the floor all day long.

Leaning towards an ACT. Thanks for the input! Why would I look at getting a new transfer case?
