The pump gas numbers without alky are posted in another thread I started.

The alky kit we are going to just take off the car. The car made 602 on straight 93.

And the alky kit is for sale! I don't even want it anymore... Pump and race gas diet for me! I'll make it a very good deal like I did with my old AMS IM. Keep an eye out of for the FS thread.

I have noticed that on the big hp pump gas builds, it's always with straight pump with no meth. Is there any particular reason behind that? DB, do you prefer to tune with just straight pump?

Dave, what would you attribute the superb spoolup to? Its rare you see a 67 come on that soon, makes me reconsider my 35..

It should....its just a T3 turbine housing.

edit**wait, maybe not. For some reason, I want to say they use a different turbine housing for the cast manifold kits....

I've wondered the same thing. With alky you have more cushion on the octane level in the event of "bad gas." I recently saw a news show where they followed a state inspector who tested the octane level of the gas at the pump. For the 93 pump, it showed 92.0. The inspector told the news crew that that was "in spec" so the station passed. That left me wondering about how wide the variances can be. For example, if you tune on 93.4, will the tune be safe on 92.0? For a high boost tune, I would have thought that the alky would be nice to keep on board to ensure that octane is always sufficient. I suppose you can rely on knock control to save the day, but if you already own the alky kit it would seem like good insurance.
