So my car wont shift into second gear, shifts fine into any other gear. I just put in a rebuilt TRE stage 2 transmission (less than 1000miles on it). It had this problem before the new tranny. I thought it was the synchros, but since its doing the same thing with this tranny I now know its not. At the same time I put in a brand new ATS/Carbonetics Twin Disk Carbon Clutch, so I know its not the clutch either. I was thinking shifter cables. Has anybody else had this problem? Any input would be appreciated. Also has anyone ever swapped out shifter cables, I have new ones ready to be put in.

 

if your shifter cable popped off it would affect 2 and 4 not just 2....

might be a contact issue. Ask the manuf. about any shimming that might need to be done. On the shep stage 2 w/ act 2100 the pivot ball for the fork has to be shimmed for proper low gear engagement.
