Rapid Cylinder Wear??? w/pics

Took my head off to send it to Buschur for a stage 3 head and I had some questions about my cylinder walls. It look like rapid wear to ya'll??? all opinions would be helpful

How many miles are on your stroker? I also have an AMS 2.3 shortblock, with about 2,000 miles on it. I had my head off two weeks ago for a new head gasket and it looked nothing like that of your pictures. The crosshatching on the cylinder walls was very apparent.

I know in AMS's break-in procedures it says an overly rich AFR may cause wash down on the cylinder walls. I'm not expert though so I cannot say anything in regards to yours, just using mine for some reference.

i prolly have around 7.5-8 thousand miles on the stroker engine. I'm the one that built this engine btw. It's just the AMS kit

could be too much timing causing forged pistons to expand and contact the walls.
could also be too tight of piston to wall clearance, or improper bore/hone job (if that was done)

can a fingernail catch onto the scuffs on the walls?

what was the piston to wall clearance?

Our engine builder says that the walls do not look that far off from a normal stroker.

Strokers put more side load on a pistons and can cause what you are going through.

I would make sure the tune is in check as detonation and too much fuel can cause this to happen much quicker and more severe.

I am unsure of the piston to wall clearance because I let the machine shop handle this. they cut the rings and bored out the cylinder walls. these are .020 overbore pistons. but no the cylinder wall surface is smooth and its not near rough enough to catch a fingernail on it

so ya'll don't think it looks too bad???

I am unsure of the piston to wall clearance, I let the machine shop handle that. he said something about turbo charged engines having to have the rings cut differently than n/a engines I remember. and also said something about the clearance for forged pistons being different than cast. I guess I assumed he knew but I could've been wrong. Is there a way I can check the piston to well clearance accurately? through a micrometer maybe??? If I can, I'll check and tell ya'll on here what it is

I just measured using a feeler gauge. it seemed to be about .006mm and I could even get .008 in a lot of the places but not all. Hopefully I used a correct method. I just stuck it down in there between the piston and cylinder wall.

You really need to get a bore gauge in there for a proper measurement.

I was running about 31 lbs of boost on a gt35r on 110 octane leaded fuel. Not sure about the timing exactly though, I'd have to find an old log that I did

anyone know where I can get one of those??? think auto-zone or somewhere would have that? If so I'll get one and post the measurements

maybe I'm being paranoid asking about this, but its better safe than sorry lol. I just like things to be as good as they can be when it involves the engine. Hopefully I'll be fine

thanks for ya'lls comments, all input is welcome, hopefully the engine will be ok.
