I wanted to know the big difference if there is any from the bottom to top mount manifolds? Do you loose anything going top mount witch one is better or worse.
Thanks

As far as I heard the topmount is the tiniest bit better in topend. But it absorbs more heat since its right next to everything. But most ppl prefer the bottom mount for sum reason although I love the way the topmount looks

You may encounter cracking if the turbo is not properly supported with a top mount setup.

There is rumour that top mount can increase HP but I haven't had this confirmed.

Topmount is a great way of showing off your big turbo so everyone can see it easier. =)

Just because a manifold puts a turbo up top doesn't mean anything. When you build a manifold where you put the turbo has nothing to do with how good it will work...Runner length, diameter, bends, collector, etc all play a role in that, the manifold doesn't care if the turbo is up top or down low

Will it be hotter for the block as the mani sits next to it for top mount?

The benefits I see of the bottom mount setup would have to be a shorter downpipe and having the turbo on the bottom I would assume aids in the exhaust gasses reaching the turbine faster since it's flowing with gravity and not against it. One thing I really don't like about the evo top mount setups is the way the radiator hose is directly infront of the compressor intake Plus neither AMS, Buschur, or ETS offer top mount setups or promote them...gotta be good reasons for that.

I personally prefer bottom mounts. If you use a top mount, you move the tubo higher up in the car, raising the center of gravity.
