Question BOV Mounting - Short Route vs Stock Route

I'm in the process of converting to speed density. The bov of choice is a Tial so I bought one.

My question is: What UICP'ing has the bov mounting point on the top of the pipe?

It seems as though all stock route piping has the mount on the bottom of the pipe and a the short route have it on top. Am I right with this observation?

I would like to keep my full size battery because of the temps in CT.

The Tial is too big to fit on the underside of the pipe. On my setup it hits the water pump neck.

On all the pics of the muse I havent seen a stock route with the bov on top. I also dont see the option to get the Tial flange on VRSF website.

If you want to use stock piping without having to weld anything MAP offers this piece.

Its not that I dont want to weld. I was just wondering if there was a stock route UICP that had the BOV mounting point on top as opposed to the bottom. Regardless of BOV type.

Most will only offer the stock route pipe with OEM flange, since it's really tight up top. If you put the TiAL on top of the pipe it's going to come in contact with the hood. The only place you can really put the valve is down a bit lower towards the radiator hose and even that will come in contact some times.

This is why we only offer stock flange on stock route piping or we sell it with no flange and let the customer weld on the TiAL flange where they want.

The short route is a different story. We can mount the TiAL flange on top of the pipe no problem, because the pipe sits a lot lower and over where the battery use to sit. This does require a mini battery or battery relocation to the trunk though.

Hope this helps!

Michael

Put the battery in the trunk. Its simple, cheap, and gives you tons of space upfront!
