There are other threads about these plugs doing the same thing. Infact there are warnings not to run these plugs becouse of it. But i guess some people dont do there research first?

Sorry this happened!

I think there were probably a few factors and I'm a novice as far as headwork is concerned but the valve itself doesn't look "Melted". It looks like something hit it.

the only question I have is what are the notches on the "ground straps" on the undamaged plugs?
surly that's not from gaping the plugs?

get your story right bro!! the plugs i have are the dg PLugs 1.04" in length size the correct size for the IX. If your refering to my old thread yes i did purchase the wrong plugs but that did not ruin my head just to get that story out of the way.

You can see there is not damage to aluminum parts. detonation attacks pistons and cylinder head by allowing extreme heat to enter those parts at or near TDC. The type of damage we have hear is when you have ignition way before TDC this makes tremendous combustion heat but not at TDC specifically. In turn the valve melts as this exteme heat is expelled from the chamber.

definitely ruined your engine installing these plugs. hopefully they will do something about it, but It will be an uphill battle. hopefully your misfortune will save others from making the same mistake.
you may be right, and i hope it just ruined my head(valve) not my block, still got to check out my cylinder walls ill keep this updated once i get those pictures

Gota wunder why that burned valve is rounded on the edge and there is no damage to the seat.
