HKS 272's

Can someone verify if both cam shafts for an evo IX are stamped with HKS. If not, what are the other 'identifiable' stampings on the cam?

I am picking up a set of used 272s from a friend, who has quite a few other cams and what not laying around and we got what we think are the matching cams, however only one was marked HKS.

Thanks in advance

I would think they'd both be marked....sounds a lil fishy. Are there any numbers on the unknown cam?

I will have to check the marking on the second cam. I will probably just post up a couple pics of them when I get home.

The last thing I am questioning is the legitamacy of the person I am dealing with. He has just switched cams a few times and we weren't sure which is which at this point.

I was hoping someone had a set at home that they haven't installed yet to verify the markings on the two cams so we can figure out which are which.

Okay, here are the pics.

The first two are of the cam without the HKS. The second one is obviously the HKS Cam.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking they would both be marked, but we weren't really sure.

Anyone else have a set to verify on some Evo IX HKS 272's.

Sorry mine are both stamped also just like in the last picture. Mine are for an VIII also though. If you check the HKS website, they will have the part number there and that should also be on the cam somewhere.

I have HKS 264/272 for an VIII and they are both stamped with "HKS". I would think all of their cams are stamped, not just one out of the two.

Thanks, it is possible one of the stockers was in the box we found and the other cam is just in another box somewhere.

My stockers have holes in them and have numbers stamped on them like your pictures. I think you got a stocker.

If I'm not mistaken the HKS MIVEC intake Cams for the IX's is made from an OEM Blank and is not stamped HKS so the only way to know for sure would be measure it...

.

That is interesting, I will probably just check with a vendor to make sure and if their intake isn't stamped, then I will just have to measure them.

Thanks for the reply.
