280/280 cam on stock turbo
Looks like you lost a bit of power below 2800 RPM's there Scheides
His car really did respond well to the HKS 280's and I see no reason not to get them on a stock turbo car if you have a decent tuner in your area.

They ran perfect. I had the HKS one's. The idle is lopey as well. Sounds pretty mean if thats of any concern. But like i said, if you're planning on going bigger just save some cash up till you get the 35r for a more aggressive cam. Also just for safety, you should invest in springs, retainers, and headstuds.
PS-- you don't need springs/retainers with the HKS 280's, just keep the revs reasonable and you won't have a problem. Again, I have 35k miles on my setup, beaten on daily
ARP's are good though
PPS- you don't need cam gears either

3 of my friends had comp 280/280 and all 3 had no problems and all 3 made 380whp dyno jet and 1 was running a tial 50mm BOV no problems all 3 stock Ecu and the comp worked out really good in 1 of the car that got a BR3065 he ran 11.1 at 130mph+ 31psi you should have no problem with 280 on stock turbo
Check with 'Manny@toplevel'. He's running 280's on his stock turbo set-up. His car is on the list of 'fastest stock turbo cars in 08'.
You should be fine. Keep it under 8k.

c'mon people ... you cannot compare one manufacturer's "280" cam to another manufacturer's "280" cam. Different lift, different ramp rates, etc. It's comparing apples to oranges. HKS 280 cams will work with the stock turbo. Plenty of people have done so. As far as I've seen, setting them to +2/0 seems to work best - it did for me and Ted B and a few others...

I just made 310hp and 310tq at cbrd on thursday with the cam gears at 0 on the stock turbo. this was with the brian crowers with the single valvspring upgrade, headstuds, ported im/tb, wiesco pistons and Manely I beem rods. 0 knock at 24psi
Good god SEARCH!! I have posted this about 15 times now HKS 280's on stock turbo rules!
I picked up 35whp peak, 50whp in some places on my 2005. Been running them for 35,000 miles daily with zero issues. All they do is make power!
