6 SPEED OWNERS interested in special tranny fluid?

MIL.SPEC is considering stocking some Castrol SynTorq LT for MR and 6 speed owners. I have been running this on my personal vehicle which now has 85,000 miles on the original 6 speed. It's a fully synthetic tranny fluid the same weight as the Super DiaQueen (75W-85). On my car, it solved the 2nd gear grind/notchiness. The LT stands for "Low Temperature" because the NOVI-4500 truck transmissions had problems overheating. This fluid solved that problem. Heat also seems to plague the 6 speed, which is why I use this fluid myself.

MOPAR sells this as an OEM fluid for ~ $22-24 a quart. It's the OEM Viper fluid. We would be selling it for ~$16-18 a quart. The MR only uses 2.3 quarts, so we would sell "MR Packages" in 2.5 quart volumes, saving people .5 a liter.

Let me know if you guys are interested, and we can get this going.

-Erik

I run Royal Purple 75w-90, what can you is better with this fluid vs what i am running now?

The royal purple completely resolved ALL my notchiness in my 06 MR's 6spd. I live in south FL btw. Its hot here, now. VERY humid too!!!

agreed, any ideal how this compares to RP or amsoil oils? My 6speed doesn't grind, but is super stiff between 2&3 from a previous owner running iffy fluid. Putting the stock fluid back in fixed the issue about 50% and i'm hoping an upgraded fluid will have some benefit as well!

And the 5 speed tranny can also take advantage of this great fluid also, right?

Guys, I am not a materials engineer, or a chemical engineer.

All I know is this fluid solved my 2nd gear notchiness issues, plus it was designed for transmissions that overheat. When the NOVI-4500 trannys started having issues with failures, Castrol specifically developed this formulation to remedy the problem.

I sent in my tranny oil to be analyzed by Blackstone Labs at 75,000 miles to see how this fluid was working with my transmission. The lab report came back excellent with them commenting on how little wear was showing up in the fluid. That's when I decided I could sell this with a clear conscious.

If you guys are using brand X/Y/Z and it solved your problems, I wouldn't necessarily change. The only thing to beware of are super-thin oils like BG-II which feel great at first, but have long term potential consequences as evidenced by a few MR owners.

For people who are asking me how this compares to X/Y/Z, I can't give you a good answer. My experience only lies with (at the moment) the Castrol SynTorq LT.

I live in LA, so everything is a haul

With the heat, it's a good way to test things though

HERE IS WHAT MY TRANNY LOOKED LIKE AFTER 68,000 MILES USING CASTROL SYNTORQ LT

MR OWNERS, PAY ATTENTION TO THE LAST SENTENCE :

I currently run Motul but I wouldn't mind trying this for comparison sake.

I'm in, you were supposed to get back to me on this over a month ago, lol. Let me know either way

Based on your report, most of us should change the tranny oil every 10-12k miles. My first was at 18K, ouch.

Interested.

I'd be REALLY interested if you could get Castrol Syntrans. The limited specs available are superior to the Syntorq. Looks like a really good 75W/85.
