Didn't look like an HTA. Nice 1.8, we're nearly finished with our kits for those.

I would suggest the OP give FP a call.
I didn't buy it from FP, but from a garrett dealer... I can pin it no problem if i have too. Do they pin it on all 4 sides or is one enough. I already fixed it anyways. I drilled a hole and welded one of the slots, so it shouldn't go anywhere.. Maybe later i will upgrade to a HTA turbo and they can redo it...

Yah my g/f passat is a 1.8T 4Motion. Could have easily gotten the drivetrain from that seeing there in the US but rare.

That actually is a Tial housing. You will need to contact who you bought it from and have it replaced.

Ivan: We are not fixing any ole' turbos with messed up inlets for free. Just HTA turbos that we sold that had this problem (very small group of turbos actually). This guy needs to call whomever he purchased the turbo from so they can handle it.

You are correct about there being pins now to eliminate this problem.

Boost on!

Thanks for straightening that out Rob. I saw HTA in the thread title and assumed. I am sorry.

Thats the way I took it off the way Tial has it on there webpage with the V-Band turbine housings. If not it would have been very misleading.
