Misfire code P0300
Misfire code P0300
I've been having this misfiring issue for a while now and have read on a few threads, but I'm beginning to think the cylinder near the passenger side (I believe it is #1) is not firing. From before my idle has become more ruff, which before you could barely tell i had cams, now it is very evident that i do. My mods are...
RRE catback
RRE rally cat
Helix downpipe
HKS FMIC + custom piping
Cosworth cams + APR headbolts
Okada Project coils
New Stock plugs (gapped)
Denso 720cc injectors
Walbro 255lph
Zentronics Wideband / EGT / Boost (map sensor)
During WOT my egts would be 1522 degrees F and have an A/F of 9.8.
I suspect that it may possibly be the plug wire going from cylinders #1 -> #4, but wanted to see what you guys thought before I began doing other tests.
thanks,
Eugene

Do you ever got a p0301 (cylinder #1 misfire)? That is the cylinder closest to the passenger side. I get both codes. Checking the plug wire is simple. Just check the resistence of it.
I didn't think you could get EGT's that high without melting something. lol. A misfire will show up lean, not rich. which is confusing. Did you look at the freeze frame data when pulling the code? Mine is always in closed loop around the 16 to 20 load conditions.
