We've been in testing of our own intercooler core since 2003. To my knowledge we are actually the only intercooler manufacturer using our own core design inside and out, which was developed as a result of many years of testing. We have used cores from Garrett, Spearco, Modine, Bell and others for years prior to that. Our first design we felt improved upon the best characteristics of all of those listed, without the compromises of some. We are now on our 4th generation core, which as a combination of features outperforms anything else we've encountered overall for efficiency, flow, airflow to the radiator, resistance to heatsoak, etc. as a performance package. The performance of our race cars and sponsored cars (not just EVOs) confirm those statements, and our customers regularly report the same awesome results. We've spent a significant amount of time to reach the product we ship daily, and I believe it shows

Sorry Tom that's what I meant to say. Just trying to show others you guys aren't exactly new to the scene .

www.amsperformance.com go there for pricing....and nobody's going to disagree their quality is top-notch. But in my, and most everyone elses's opinion, best bang for the buck (and in my opinion best overall) goes to ETS.

The wide-tank intercooler was designed specifically for the EVO IX bumper opening that is 22" wide. The core width on the wide-tank intercooler matches that dimension to take full advantage of the opening, and uses the rest of the space behind the bumper beam for wider endtanks which can then have an even more gradual taper to the top of the core, for maximum airflow distribution throughout its height. The standard intercooler core is as wide as possible without sacrificing endtank design for airflow distribution. This takes full advantage of the very wide bumper opening on the VIII making it the choice for that application. Here's a picture for reference:

one month after i buy the standard one the wide tank comes out but its alright ETS FTW!! I love my 3 inch intercooler. You will have consistent numbers when dynoing or racing and less chances of heat soak. I bolt mine up with bolt ons and did feel a difference after tuned

I just installed my ETS 3.5" intercooler today and can't wait until I get my GSC S1's delivered, installed and then retuned to take advantage of the total package.
