Doea anyone have any idea how to interface the stock ECU with a PC? Basically for the reason of a reflash/total reprogram and the ability for additional hardware. Myself and a software engineer friend are going to use my car as a guinee pig for a product we may be coming up with. Basically I need to be able to interface the stock ECU with a PC. Does anyone know how the tuners interface with the ECU to do a reflash. Any info you guys have for me I'd realy appreciate. We also have the ability to contact an electrical engineer if any hardware development is needed. (being and engineering student has its advantages ) What we are looking for is actually getting the algorithims the stock ecu uses for controlling the engine. We need to get very specific information.

Our reason for doing this is we are sick of all the garbage on the market that is hard to use and requires a dyno tune to work properly. We are basically going to start research on creating a stand alone engine management system that has an included user interface which will alow on the fly tunability of future mods. This is very optomistic but we haev some free time on our hands and need a project
