Im thinking about the peakboost topmount manifold but dont see alot of topmount evos around. Why? And noticed that rad. hose runs right in front of turbo any way around that or is that one of the reasons i dont see it alot of TM's?? THANKS..

Same reason the Subie guys get rid of their top mounts - heat and air flow. You get heat from the motor that heat sinks the IC and we just dont have the air flow to cool our IC when its up there.

And dont use the rally cars to judge a street setup. Rally cars can set the motor back some and rework everything to use a TMIC. Benifits to being a purpose built race car.

The main reason we've never sold one is that a new radiator would be required. On top of that the overall packaging and fit of it just sucks and would be a PITA to work on.

i"m getting one build right now, i went with top mount for very easy access to everything plus i love how it looks and longer runner so that should give you better spooling, all you need is a small rad and your done.

One of the reasons might be that the top mount kit costs more.

i think top mount manifold is awesome but if ur on stock turbo watse of time unless u plan on going crazy setupwith car like 37r or 42r then yes other than that just stick with a aftermarket equal length one ull see good top end gains from it the top mount on is more for cars puttign 600 whp plus but i love the way it looks +1

I disagree with you.

People do them cause of the looks.

Look at 95% of the cars do not run a top mount.

Placing the turbo up top in my conversations with Ken Peak makes spacing for a larger turbo. I do know that with the Peakboost Top mount a Evo 5 radiator is needed, but those can be found on here for $200 or so from different vendors.

Top mounts benefit ever so slightly on flow. I'll chime peakboost in this thread so that he can give you guys a run down on everything they have learned from the FTW Ramhorn manifold as opposed to there top mount system like the one the Norcal Skunk2 Evo has on it.

Top mount does not allow for a bigger turbo in our cars, IT'S WORSE! The PeakBoost Kit is a tight fit, and installation is not for the novice. I probably wouldn't do it again because maintenance is a nightmare with the kit. Almost everything you have to do involves removing the radiator. But it looks good! That is the primary reason I bought the kit, I just love the look of the turbo mounted up top! I shoulda' bought a Supra!
