I would go with the Exedy Twin. I had that in my car for about 1K miles and loved it! I have driven cars with the ACT and they feel heavy compared to an Exedy!

Couple other things:

A- Mine was only in the car for 1k miles due to I am now upgrading, I put it in and then blew my engine. Its coming back a 9/10 second car with too much power. I am upgrading to a Tilton Twin Carbon ($4K clutch and far from what most need). My clutch will also be for sale as soon as I get my car finished.

B- A lightweight flywheel is bad for our cars! Reason being, the heavier the flywheel, the more momentum and mass there is to keep the crank turning and keep rpms up, which in turn helps keep boost and cause for less turbo lag!

I wouldnt go with anything besides an Exedy Twin HD!

Why?

So you guys are saying that I wont be happy with the ACT HDSS I mean the cars gonna have about 475-500whp on pump and NOT be launched. It will be daily driven.

Thanks for all your input!!

Also the exedy twin is over twice the price of the ACT...

What about SPEC anybody runing a spec stg II or III?

I have the ACT HDSS too and I like it for the price. Don't let anyone tell you that it has a stock pedal feel though because it definitely does not.

Why...I have now established its over kill for my application. I would say yes if it was for launching and racing everyday or very often but once a car gets rolling the clutch doesn't half to be half as strong as it does when its being launched in terms of holding power.

Thanks again for you input so far...

Id still love to hear if anybody is running SPEC clutches

Thanks!

The reason everyone is telling you the Exedy is that the pedal will feel same as stock. It also doesnt have the high rpm lockout issues. And it shifts much smoother.

The Act will hold the same amount of power, but the pedal is heavy compared to stock for a DD, they sometimes experience rpm lock out, and I personally dont like the feel.

The driveability is the exact reason when I got my new clutch, I went with a Tilton Twin Carbon over the Exedy triple. They will both easily hold the power, But the Tilton has a light pedal feel, and also shifts much smoother!

I just ordered the act with the street lite flywheel. I'm going to install it hopefully this weekend and I will post back if you still haven't decided. I thought about the exedy twin but it was just too expensive right now. I also am not a big fan of the chatter with the twin, but it is not as terrible as it people make it out to be. My friend has one and it is not really that loud.

i wanted the exedy bc it is by far one of the best clutches on the market, but like you didnt want to spend the money. ended up getting to good of a deal to pass up on a clutchmasters stage 3 with a fidanza flywheel. mine is my DD and have had it for maybe 8,000 miles. love it so far, slightly heavier than stock, but nothing unbearable for an evo driver.

good luck with the decision man

Did you know that actually using the lighter flywheel is better. It allows the motors RPM's to drop faster, which, if anyone having any lockout or shift issues at high RPM's, it will fix them. I dont think you need to worry about lag... considering the evo will be in power-ban while you are shifting into the next gear, if you can shift fast enough...

I just want to know what is the point of all of the mods if it's going to be a "babied daily driver"?
