I am doing head swap on buddies eclipse and we put evo8 head on his 4g64
The problem is that waterpipe he got has a piece of metal pipe with rubber o-ring to go in at the bottom of thermostat housing and thermostat housing that came with head does not have a hole at the bottom for it.
Now, i think waterpipe came of evo9, does somebody know if there is difference between evo9 and 8 thermostats and water pipes??
I have a link to picture of evo 8 thermostat and waterpipe but i have never seen evo9 thermostat housing.
Also i was thinking just to block (weld) that piece on evo9 waterpipe and use it like that but i just want to be sure before i do it!!

Unfortunately i dont have any pics of waterpipe at the moment as i am at work

I am pretty sure i answered my own question. Here we can see that evo 8 water pipe does not have this piece with rubber o-ring so i am going to block it since we are using evo 8 thermostat.
