Getting the 02 sensor out of my cat was a huge nightmare for me. It turned what at one point was a simple and smooth exhaust install into a 4 hour affair all because the 02 sensor socket (7/8) I bought was complete garbage and was actually stripping the sensor. Thank god my friend had an open ended wrench that JUST fit and we managed to get it out. But yeah, USE ANTI SEIZE COMPOUND when putting it back on!

i use 22mm wrench, mine came out very easy, but then again i only have 17,000 miles on the car
and always use anti- seize on any nut, bolt, ect. that you take off the exhaust system

Just did an exhaust for a friend this weekend. We had to use a 22mm wrench. We tried an o2 socket but the opening in the socket would just expand. We went to some little small auto shop they let us put the cat in a vice and gave us a rather hefty 22mm open ended wrench.

Turns out the o2 sensor was crossed threaded from the factory.

yeah, some jackass told me 7/8 inch was the universal size and told me 22mm didnt exist. i made the mistake to listen to the jackass and ended up stripping the O2 sensor. i was able to buy a 22mm O2 sensor piece and a big a$$ breaker bar. The only issue i have now is that when i am under the car, i don't have a lot of room to move.

It would be much easire if you take the cat out of the exhaust pipe. The wires are long enough if you take them off their clips to be able to work on that cat beside the car and not under it.

Not at all. I was actually really surprised it worked. I was going to cut the o2 wires because it was pissing me off. But if you do it with the lock pliers just make sure its on really tight.
