it all depends on the rpm... like was said before 28 psi spikes (mid range rpm) are not an issue... as for high boost at high rpm, stock turbo can't hold more than 22 psi at redline (7000 rpm) as far as my experience goes...

I used to hold 24ish at 7000rpm

25 is no where near the max you can go on a tuned stock turbo stock motor. (untuned is a different story)

I ran 24psi on pump with no issues for a few years. Proper tune ftw!

I play with computers as a hobby. With the right CPU/RAM/mobo, I can overclock the sucker to run at ridiculous speed, after adjusting the relevant, related parameters. I can, then, test it for stability by running Prime (an error-making app) for 72 hours on priority10, occupying both channels of a dual-core CPU with dedicated applications. Even after all this, including Herculean stability demands, I'm never surprised when I fry the CPU or the board within 6 month. If I overclock the machine somewhat conservatively, it'll work perfectly for years and years. Cars aren't all that different.

I run 25lbs via JDM calibrated MAP Sensor. Note* The JDM MAP Sensor is dead accurate and is NOT gauge pressure which is 1.83 bar = 26.5psi.

I run this on a JustDSM tune on 91 octane...

Pulled wastegate line on a Green, on C16, with fully stock internals (somewhere near 36-37psi...ask Inneedof he has been in the car when this has been done). This is the only way I raced since it always seemed I had a bad MBC when I would hit the track. No headgasket problems, no lifted head, etc. Carefully tuned...yes.

I exceeded my boost gauge and calibrated 3 bar for the first few laps, but its amazing what you can do with that boost for awhile.

Is it recommended, no...thats why I said 28psi is a good safe margin on a good tune.

I have run 30psi on pumpgas with no meth/alcohol and no knock and others have replicated the results and even on 91 came very close to 30psi. It can be done but it takes very careful, very slow and very methodical tuning to make it "foolproof" and its still something I would never do for a customer. On racegas or E85 its not a problem but pumpgas is definitely not something that you want to risk high boost too.
