Header/o2 housing combo - recommendations?

Hey guys, im looking to purchase an exhaust mani/o2 housing combo for my 2005 Evo. Stock turbo, chek sig for mods. Wanted to know what anyone would recommend for a combination of exhaust mani/o2 housing. Big hp gains would be nice, but at this point the car is plenty fast. I am looking more for a good looking setup without losing HP as some mani's seem to do?

I was looking at a Prosport manifold with a titek o2 housing. any arguments for or against that?

i would do what buschur recomends go with the ported exhaust manifold and port the stock one also , they do this at buscur racing , he did a test on the ported exhaust manifold and it beat alot of the aftermarket ones , plus they all crack some day , the ported stock is ugly but gets the job done like forever ..
hope this helps !!!!!!!11

I seen PPI's ported exh mani with the outside all cleaned up also and you can get any coating you want. It looked good. Its just another option for ya to look at.

i was considering the ported/coated stock. the only thing holding me back is the looks of it. i love the look of custom headers. if anyone's got some good pictures of the ported/coated stocker then id appreciate it. the ones ive seen are pretty ugly.

For an exhaust manifold, just port the Stock unit, for an 02 Housing, you have one of three choices...

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=342112

This unit is the best IMHO but is loud, it has the most flow and will help with boost taper the most. If you enjoy loud WOT, this is it.

Next up would be the eBay 02 housing. It doesn't dump but flows much better then the stock united, ported or otherwise. Buschur himself stated that he picked up 15WHP and better spoolup with the installation of this unit over his ported stock 02 housing.

Last and least is the ported stock 02 housing, it works better then stock, but not nearly as well as the above two.

alright, so i think im guna go with PSI. ported/coated stocker w/ the o2 dump housing. does any1 own the o2 housing that can tell me any disadvantages/problems. im worried about ground clearance and the placement of the tube because i have an APR front splitter.

thanks guys.

It isn't a ported stock unit with a dump, it is a custom built 02 housing WITH a dump.

Here look....

This IMHO would make the most power. It completely separates the exhaust flow from the wastegate flow. Makes the exhaust more efficient and you have ZERO turbulance from the wastgate flow hitting the the exhaust flow. It will make boost control easier and will hold more boost up top with less restriction. Also sounds COOL AS HELL.

There are too many different versions of the "ebay" O2 housing to know if your are getting a good or one of the many "junk" units. So I don't think this is a very good source for a good product.

The EvoPowerMods option is nice, but there might be some issues. It's loud, it costs more, and most importantly... it might take a weeks if not months to get one in your hands.

Megan O2 housing has been known to have boost creep issues

The invidia unit has poor 02 sensor bung placement, but this issue can be over come.

the hardest thing for the o2 housing would be the installation. but since you will do the exhaust manifold the you might as well take off the hotside and do the o2 housing removal out of the car. im not sure if it will hit the apr splitter since i have not seen one installed. but the hole should be small so it shouldn't look bad.

the apr splitter runs from about 2 inches infront of the farthest point on the bumper to about 2 feet under the car. fyi.

alright, so considering i completely forgot about a hotside mod to go with this...lets at that in. anyone have a good recommendation for all 3? any special deals? great dealers? etc.
