NEED help with TC and Tranny fluids...i screwed up...

I accidentally drained the TC and filled it with Diaqueen 75W-85 super gear oil (tranny fluid). will this hurt the TC? I'm planning on going to get some oil for it and drain it and replace the diaqueen, but i want to know if that will damage the TC. thanks.

If you drive with it in it yes it will damage if not destroy it. Drain it and fill with correct fluids. Drive it for a few hundred miles then replace it again to flush the system out of any trans fluid.

^^^Agreed. You need to flush it out now to make sure you get all that trans. fluid out.

Wow I don't think you should be changing your own fluids. Its pretty obvious which hex bolts they are. One on the bottom and one on the top. You might want to put the right fluids in the TC too if you can't afford a new one. Been around 3yrs and 1300 posts and this is the first time attemping to change your TC and tranny fluids

alright *******, drop it. I've worked on this car plenty of times, just never had to change either of these fluids myself. i had the dealer do it the other times. everybody makes mistakes. all the pics online are of the 5 speed transmission. they said there would be a 24mm and a 17mm bolt...guess what, the TC's got those two, and there was no mention of the 6speed having hex bolts. i got the two confused, but i fixed the problem...moving on. as for the transmission bolts, yeah i figured those two hex bolts were it because of their location, but seeing as how i had problems with the TC bolts, i wanted to make sure. i drained and flushed the TC 3 times with Diaqueen LSD oil and filled it so it's fine. the tranny has also been drained and filled with Diaqueen 75W-85. neither of these were do for changing, but i had a hose come loose some how and leaked almost all of my tranny fluid out, so i fixed that problem and then had to change the tranny fluid. the TC thing was just an accident. anyway, it's all done now so stop being a douche.

I'd definitely drive around for 50-100 miles then drain and fill again.
