Fuel pump and tune question.
Well basically I'm military and stationed in Kansas, I'm going back home on leave to CT.
I want to get my car tuned by Dynoflash while I'm home on leave and my question is, is it unadvised to drive that far with a fuel pump without a tune? Its about 1400 miles.
I mean I can just pop the fuel pump in after I get to CT at my mothers or grandmothers but its would just be easier to do it here at home in KS.
What you guys think?

well i would do it when you get there for the tune. They are not hard to install so why not wait.
Also before your tune do a boost leak test and fix any leaks and install a new set of plugs before the tune.
Send Al a pm and he will tell what to do for preparation and answer your question on the fuel pump.

I think if you just bolt it right up w/o a tune, its suppose to make you run a little richer. I have not notice a difference in mpg. Matter of fact my last tank got me 276 miles to the tank.

It will only cause you to run richer and lower your MPG during your trip. If you are that concerned about your mileage I would just wait until you got there to install it.
i recommend stopping by IveyTune in Linden, NJ. Best tuner on the east coast by far. I had my car tuned at pruvens, but it was running pig rich (below 10 a/f since it was pinned on light throttle.. got 165miles to the tank) along with extreme timing errors which was causing ALOT of knock. I had my car re-tuned by Sean Ivey and he is way better priced and a much more thorough tuner. Give him a call, (908) 925-8700 and tell them Jennifer sent you
ps. depending on your route from kansas to connecticut, you could take I-70 all the way out to I-81 to I78 which will bring you to the Garden State Parkway. He's right there, between the Garden State Parkway and I-95/NJ Turnpike so when you leave his shop you can head right home to CT! His address is 1230 E. Elizabeth Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Do a google map for directions.
Good Luck and drive safe!
