Fuel pump options for E85
I am possting this question here, as i may get more constructive advice on how to accomplish my goals......
california 91 octane is ~$4.90 / gal & a e85 station is now opened up down the road close by......so i will be changing fuels soon. maps will change, as i tune my own aem...no problem.
I currently am running a fp-grn using 880cc injectors, all the basic bolt ons....
I read about upgrading fuel pumps to double units, run a higher fuel pressure regulator, etc.....
whats really necessary & what are people getting away with?
I dont plan on trying to make 1000000whp or anything like that, i just want to maximize what i have avaialble to me @ a reasonale means.....
are there any mods that i can do to my existing walbro to get more flow out of it or should i just get larger injectors & Or get a 2nd fuel pump?
money is tight, as i am try ing to get into a house soon too.
all constructive advice is appreciated......thanks

Dual pumps 1200cc's if you run anything higher then a 35R i would look into dual rail setup with 1000cc's as the main spraying injectors then 880cc's once it hits a certin rpm and boost level. Good luck. With your goals.
Aby, is that the shell station in Carlsbad? I was just talking to James about this on Friday and will be going E85 mid July. Closest to me is the Ford dealer on Elcajon and the 15. I have a 255 and James will be ordering me a set of RC 1000's, but I'm on a stock IX turbo. You could get away with the single 255, as long as you don't turn up the boost to much. Are you going with a GM 3-port?
Also to be more accurate you can whatch your injector duty cycles, if you currently have a AEM. And get a idea due to the E85 requiring 30% mroe fuel. And like mdsevo06 said it dose make a difference on what turbo and ect. you are running. Good luck

I dont know if you'll absolutely require the double pumper. Ask Lucas English what his set up is, he's hitting over 450 on a IX turbo and E90.
I have a 255 and 1000cc's on an 8 turbo, and I'm only at like 65% duty cycle, maybe a hair less. 880's for sure won't be enough, 1000 might, 1200 for insurance though. Toss those in and start tuning on the 255 and see what the duty cycles are before you drop the cash for a double pumper system

Aby, you can probably push the single pump to 450whp (DJ) no problem. I am pushing a little over that and found a deal on the double bumper so I upgraded.
Lucas is making 500whp on a single pump if that says anything.

If you look for big numbers and have an AEM go for 1600 cc or 1200 cc and dual 255.
Everything will be perfect.
