Precision Turbo 6262 vs 6265

Is anyone out there going to try out the 6265?

I know the 6262 are available and have been sold to quite a few people now.

I'm sure everyone is working to get some test #'s out to the public.

There is a 2-4 wk wait on the 6262 (according to our rep Ed) but just wondering what people thought about the 6265.

We are thinking of trying out the 6265 and if the spool is not what we care for we may switch to the 6262 when available. Ed from Precision said he'd work w/ us to find out which combo would work best w/ our combo.

My thinking is that even if it spooled like the reg "37R" but allowed for even more hp then it might be a good upgrade for me from the 35R currently on the car

I know there isn't much info out yet about these turbos but does anyone care to discuss.....i don't think there are any West Coast guys w/ them yet....

What made you guys go with the 6265 vs the 6262? Availability?

We just got word that both of them won't be ready for another couple of weeks

Anyway i think if i have to wait either way i may stick with the 6262 as i'd like to have spool up time similar or even better yet earlier than my current 35R
i chose this turbo bacause it was in stock from mike@awdmotorsports and he told me it would be a great turbo so we will see how it goes as im getting tuned by jestr next sat.

We are going to test the 6765 vs. the 6265 soon.. We didnt order the 6262's, we ordered all 6265's which will be a better comparison against the 67mm turbo anyway.. I am 100% positive the 6265 is going to outspool the 67 due to the 67 being larger obviously + not having the billet wheel.. Im more curious to see how much more peak power the 67 will have.. ill keep you guys posted for sure!

You're not done yet???

Looking forward to this test, got word my engine should be ready in a few weeks and I'll have a running Evo again. Been down more than up past 2 years so lets hope it stays running for a long time now! Anyway I need something to make more power than the original 37R, and spool faster.

Mike

Do you happen to know if the 62 will put out as much overall hp as the 65 but just with better spool characteristics?

Our rep was telling us the 65 would better suited for larger dis. motors which seems to be an obvious assumption.

I'm staying 2.0L so just wondering if the 62 would be a better choice.

I guess i'll just wait and see.

I am going to speculate that 6265 will probably put out more PEAK power over the 6262.. how will the each spool i guess well have to wait and see.. sorry i dont have more info yet.. They are so new and i just havent tested anything yet 1st hand..

Somebody get a picture of that billet wheel....I want to see that cool looking sucker.

The turbo is rated around 64-65lbs/min......no reason is shouldn't support around the same as a GT35R compressor wheel.

Its hard to stare at your turbo setup in your room sometimes.. Nothing wrong with getting dialed in a stock cams.. Enjoy the power and then add cams later and make more.. if you do it all at once its cheaper but its nice to feel NEW power sometimes by adding 1 more mod at a time and retune.. Eric's car is a IX so it still will make pretty good power, even on stock cams!!!

yeah I couldn't wait any longer and stare at that manifold and had the money so why not. exactly I like new power and not everything at once then its no fun and will be boring. I want to see how much cams will help out later along with better intercooler piping and maybe some e85.
