Any Advice??????
Ok so i decided to do GSC S1's, EVO IX turbo with ported hotside, Ported stock manifold, o2 housing and head studs. I am going to do everything myself. Now i have built a few mustangs in the past so i am not that bad with tools. I have watched the how to video on the cams and also read the bleeding the lifters thread. So i just wanted to ask if any one had any other advice for me before i start this project after i get all the parts? Also if someone could tell me how long it should take?
Give yourself plenty of time to do it, and don't do it all at once. Do cams first, start to finish. Get the car running good, then once that is done, do the IX turbo. Or vice versa. IX turbo will be easier
make sure if you do cams, nobody is helping you out.
somehow every time i have more than 1 guy working on a car there are bolts missing.
again, get the tensioner tool and take your time

well, if you want to make life easy...
drain your radiator and pull that out.You will free up a ton of space to work. Unbolt the downpipe from your o2 housing and take your intake out. Now pull the manifold/turbo/02 housing all at once. Assemble the new turbo/manifold/02housing. its a good idea to you loctite and a torque wrench on all this stuff since ist out of the car and accessable. Those 02 housing bolts have been known to back them selves off from time to time.
As stated, its a good idea to get that turbo setup all back together. make sure all botls get to their respective homes. Then attack the cams. make sure you have zip ties to secure the cam gears to belt, and keep them tight so you dont jump teeth on the bottom gear. that "special tool for the tensioner" is nice to have. I will say i was dissapointed to see where 60 bucks got spent but whatever. its threaded just enough.
