MBC: What does yours do?
MBC: What does yours do?
Ok, we all know what an MBC is for, but for those of you that use one as an inline/interrupt, or even bleeder, please chime in on the following:
1) Is boost lower in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and a little higher in 5th & 6th? How much?
2) Do you get boost taper as RPMs increase? More taper as boost goes higher?
3) Do you get ever get boost spiking? More spiking with higher boost?
Which MBC do you have?

Do you get boost taper as RPMs increase?
This makes sense as I haven't heard of anyone complaining about boost tapering when RPM's are falling.
More taper as boost goes higher?
As opposed to more boost taper when boost goes lower, I guess?

Yes, and yes, we're working on one with some feature sets that don't exist on the market at all. We'll leak some early prototype info here soon because we want to get end-user feedback before finalizing the product. But, I don't want to get everyone too excited to early, because it takes some time to go into production once finalized.
Sparky- what I'm seeing with ones on the market today, is that if you run 1 bar, it can taper to say 0.9 bar, but when you turn it up to 1.5 bar, it will taper to 1.2 bar. So, more boost means more taper. Anyone seeing this?

Let's define what you have down as taper with the stock BCS. When you step on it and boost builds, it goes to say, 1.5 bar and goes quickly down to 1.2 bar, correct?
But this issue with the stock BCS doesn't follow RPM, right?

Call Reese Tuning and get a GM 3-port installed and tuned.
Edit: I had all three symptoms with a Forge MBC and made no difference which spring I used. I just put the GM in last Friday and is a different machine now. Very linear, smooth and consistent. If you still want a MBC, let me know, I have a used Forge (BLK) with both spring, like new, cheap.

The AEM 3 port solenoid uses a MAC valve. You can use this with the OEM ECU to use ecu-controlled boost, just like using the stock solenoid or a GM 3-port.
For anyone going to Spocom tomorrow in Long Beach, we'll have a rough prototype of the MBC at our booth and taking feedback from potential end-users. Come on by and say hi.
